Another quick hit for your morning smoothies, this time with fresh strawberries. Strawberries are in season here in Queensland which means they are plentiful without breaking the bank to buy them. During this time I try to go for larger quantities when I buy them and then I trim and freeze them in thought for recipes just like this one. It’s a lovely way of having the fresh fruit you love out of season although they really are only then good for cooking with or smoothies as they tend to go limp and wet when defrosted.
The addition of spices to this mix is a great way to mix up the flavours of your morning/anytime smoothies without any additional calories, just lots of extra flavour.
For me this was another way of breaking up the sameness of the same green smoothie everyday for a treat and the result was quite delicious all things considered.
