The Cookbook Guru’s take on Christmas

Christmas is already seeming so far away, but there is time for one last festive post in the form of a little Cookbook Guru roundup on the month that has just come to a close.  December was all about Christmas, about baking and the sweet stuff in our lives.

Lady Red Specs started us off with a delicious and light looking Fruit Fondue, fun for something different when you are entertaining during a busy season.

Lona and I both went for something more tradition at for this time of the year.  Lona baking us some scrumptious looking (and I’m sure smelling) Ginger Biscuits.

and I went for a traditional Swedish recipe that I love, but haven’t made in a few years in the form of Lucia Buns.

and finally we finished off this busy month with a light and tasty hazelnut sponge for all the sweettooths needing to avoid gluten/wheat in their lives with a second contribution from Lady Red Specs.

December was all about baking and sweet treats and us all getting very busy just trying to make sure things happened on time.  As we roll into January hopefully we have more time to linger over the foods we love and get back into the joy of cooking for cooking’s sake.
