Reading a Donna Hay magazine from a few months ago got my creative juices flowing and inspired me. The theme was black and white. Sounds great, but in actual reality I’m sure it was quite a challenge to food it up without colour… it’s such a big part of delighting the senses. But food it up they did with some stunning results.
I was so inspired that I decided to to try my own black and white dish and tap into a recipe that I learnt whilst I was in Bali a few years ago. Very indulgent, and only ever for a treat with this much coconut, but lucious all the same, and very impressive when served up as part of an asian feast with your family of friends.
This recipe takes time, and for something so simple you do need to be patient. I think the end result is worth it. This would particularly be a beautiful treat served with a strong espresso coffee for someone that loves rice.
